We're Now NIFAST Certified!
You may have noticed a new button on the website, and wondered what it is for. The answer is a new service that I am able to provide for you. Through NIFAST, the National Institute of Fire and Safety Training, I am now equipped to provide fire safety inspections on your home or rental property.
What value is this, you ask? Fires occur in homes and rental properties year round, but many do occur during the heating season, and even more during the holidays. We use space heaters to warm cold rooms, hang lights around the house, and burn candles for lighting effect. All of these can lead to fire if unattended.
When was the last time you checked your smoke detectors for proper operation and placement? It is estimated that an operational smoke detector were present in 23% of all fires resulting in fatality. Do you have a fire extinguisher? Has it been inspected for proper placement, for proper use on different types of fires, and that is has not expired?
These areas, and more, are covered by a fire safety inspection. A fire safety inspection is valuable for home owners of course, but maybe even more for renters, especially college students that are moving into an apartment or home. Often this is their first experience being on their own and have no idea if the house is properly equipped or what kind of exit plan can be created.
I recommend contacting Root River Inspections today for you fire safety inspection!
