As an Infrared Certified Inspector, I am in an elite group of Texas Professional Real Estate Inspectors who are embracing the latest, most advanced technology available. Thermographers interpret infrared images taken of the temperature differences of surfaces to expose underlying, and sometimes unseen, conditions of a building. By measuring the small temperature differences a trained thermographer can detect water/ plumbing leaks (potential affected mold areas), latent moisture in walls cause by various conditions, missing insulation, pest infestations, ductwork/ HVAC cabinet leaks (energy loss/ gain), and electrical hot spots that are outside of normal operating ranges which could be hazardous. An inspector without Infrared Thermal Imaging technology and training is at a great disadvantage and cannot provide a state-of-the-art inspection.
